ALEPS EKIDEN Half Marathon 2025

Get ready for the second edition of the ALEPS Ekiden Half Marathon 2025, a unique relay-style half marathon inspired by the traditional Japanese Ekiden. Teams of 4 runners will work together to complete a total of 21KM, with each member running approximately 5.3KM.

Organized by the Alumni Look East Policy Society (ALEPS), this exciting event aims to promote a healthy lifestyle, foster teamwork, and celebrate the strong friendship between Malaysia and Japan. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just in it for the fun, this is a great opportunity to experience the spirit of Ekiden, build bonds, and enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with cultural highlights and community spirit. Team up, run together, and be part of something meaningful!

ABOUT THE RACE
ALEPS EKIDEN HALF MARATHON 2025 (AEHM’25) is the second edition of this unique relay race event, following the successful debut of ALEPS Ekiden in 2024 (AEHM’24).

AEHM’25 is a relay race with a total race distance of 21 km, inspired by the traditional Japanese Ekiden (Japan relay race), which is popular as inter-varsity competitions between schools or universities in Japan, and whose popularity has since become widespread and worldwide.

In AEHM’25, a team of 4 runners will run and complete a total race distance of 21km in a relay race format (4 legs). The first runner of the team will start the race by wearing a sash (Tasuki). At the transition point, the first runner will pass the sash to the second runner. The relay continues until the last runner of the team finishes the race.

All runners will receive a Finisher’s Medal each, provided the team finishes the race within the stipulated cut-off time of 3.5 hours.

Our goal is to create an engaging and health-promoting event that brings together our alumni, local and Japan community in a spirit of camaraderie, fitness, and celebration. This event will not only promote physical well-being but also serve as a platform for strengthening relationship between Malaysia and Japan.
